The exciting agate glazing was developed for the creative design of a front door. The owners of a detached house in Hamburg wanted colorful, extravagant windows with agate stones.
The project required many individual glasses to create a luminous whole. The Tiffany technique offers many technical possibilities for combining different materials and was therefore used for this unique project.

From sketches to production
The agate panes should have a certain thickness so that the light can pass through the door into the interior of the house particularly well.
Because the clients wanted cheerful colors, I chose expressive tones such as magenta, blue and creamy white. The symmetrical arrangement of the individual elements required a great deal of patience and craftsmanship in order to create an exciting surface with aesthetic appeal.
A copper foil is applied along the contour of the slices, which then joins the bricks together with the solder. Pewter can also be dyed with a patina in brown, black or copper, giving the seams an aged look.
